Sevastova into the semis in Bucharest: “I think I like to play in the night better than during the day”
Another win for Anastasija Sevastova during the night session as she beats Romanian home crowd favorite, Sorana Cirstea, in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Se said she likes the night condition and enjoyed playing in front of a full stadium even if the people didn’t cheer for her that much this time around.
You must be happy after this win, you are again close to another final, how do you feel?
It’s still not the final, I have to play another match and tomorrow is another day. It was a tough match today, but I kept fighting and I managed to pull through.
In the past years you liked the weather because it was hot, this year it was not that hot as usual, plus the rain. Did you manage to adapt quickly?
I think I like to play in the night better than during the day. I’ve already played two matches here during the night and I like these conditions.
Even though you played against a Romanian, the crowd was fair, how did you feel the atmosphere?
It’s Ok that they are supporting the Romanian players, we are in Romania, not in Latvia (smiling), so they were pretty fair and I like the crowd here, I like that is always full, people are coming to watch tennis, it’s nice to play when it’s a full stadium.
