Q & A with Mihaela Buzărnescu: “Hopefully I will be able to play on Sunday as well”
Another win for the home crowd favorite in Bucharest as Mihaela Buzărnescu gets the spot into the semifinals after beating Yafan Wang 7-6(4), 6-3. Mihaela will face Petra Martic, a familiar opponent, as the two played against each other this year at Birmingham. This is what she had to say after the match.
For the first time in the main draw in Bucharest and you are already in two semifinals, both singles and doubles. How are you feeling?
I’m happy, pleased. It’s not easy at all to be in both semifinals, so I enjoy these moments and I am really happy that tomorrow people will get to see me twice and hopefully I will be able to play on Sunday as well.
Tomorrow you will have to play two matches, are you ready?
It’s not easy, but I feel good, better than before. We will see tomorrow. Of course, I am not 100% fit as before, but I am not tired.
You will meet Petra Martic again, you also played her a few weeks ago in Birmingham, how do you see this match?
I think every match is different, even if you play three times in a row with the same opponent in three weeks, each match will be different. Because this match is going to be on a different surface it’s going to be a lot different, but it’s going to be a good match and she is a great player and I’m looking forward to playing tomorrow.
Have you gotten used to the crowd now?
I am really OK now with the public, I had more emotions before because I wanted to prove them that I’m playing good at home for the first time. Today I felt really good and comfortable with them and it’s going to be fine from now on.
